Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) is a state-based national non-profit organization dedicated to preventing dropouts among young people who have serious barriers to graduation and/or employment. In more than three decades of operation, JAG has delivered consistent, compelling results – helping over one million young people stay in school through graduation, pursue postsecondary education and secure quality entry-level jobs leading to career advancement opportunities.
The mission of the Jobs for America’s Graduates program at Olney Charter High School is to bridge the gap between classrooms and careers by empowering young people to have a voice and a choice in their academic, personal and career success. JAG uses a holistic approach with young people in achieving a high school diploma/GED, continuing education, obtain meaningful employment which will lead to a productive and rewarding career.
What is JAG?
  • Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) program is one of the nation’s largest and most successful organizations in serving students who face significant life challenges and/or have experienced trauma.
  • Today, JAG operates in 35 states and the Virgin Islands in 1,250 locations, serving 63,000 youth.
  • JAG serves high students during one or more years in high school (grades 9 through 12) and for an additional twelve (12) months of post-graduation follow-up services.
  • To gain entrance in the program each student must have at least 5 Barriers to Success and participate in an interview to determine if JAG will be a good fit for the student.
  • The JAG curriculum aligns with the Future Ready PA Index’s College and Career Indicator.
